Episode 40 – Our thoughts on Mac OSX Lion

August 6th, 2011
On today's episode we share our thoughts on the new Mac OSX Lion. Arstechnica did a brilliant 19 page review the minute Lion was released, and being the fan boys we are a majority of the Basement Coders had it installed as soon as the App Store could download it.

Personally, I'm not an early adopter of OSs, I wait until other people install it and figure out all the workarounds to problems which inevitably crop up. I really like my setup currently, and I just can't fathom taking the time to update at the moment. Especially since OSX Lion is such a major update, it's not like Snow Leopard which only brought bug fixes. Instead, Lion brings all new features and paradigms, such as being able to install your OS without even visiting a physical store to purchase it. That's right, all you have to do is grab it from the Mac App Store and let 'er rip. With all the features in packs, OSX Lion definitely looks to be worth the $29 price tag.

We are also pleased to announce we have a full JavaOne conference pass to give away to a lucky listener! Find out how to enter!
